Workshop Level Guide

This year’s Lindy hop workshops are designed specifically for beginner, intermediate and advanced dancers, with three distinct levels of instruction. No matter your experience level, we have classes for you. As a beginner, you are relatively new to the world of swing dancing and you are looking to improve. As an intermediate or advanced dancer, you should be adept at leading or following across various tempos and enjoy playing with musicality and improvisation.

To ensure you’re placed in the group that best matches your skill level, we ask that you complete a quick questionnaire as part of your registration. This will help us assess your experience and make sure you’re learning alongside dancers of similar abilities.

You’ll receive your group placement at least one week before the event—no audition is required. Our goal is for you to challenge yourself, have fun, and make the most of the classes.

EXTRA WORkSHOPS

We are excited to introduce optional elective workshops, open to dancers of all levels and available only to Full Pass and Party Pass holders. You will choose your extra workshop in the festival registration form. Please note: these workshops are not included in the Full Pass price and must be purchased separately.

Struggling to keep up with faster tempos? Or do you find yourself defaulting to Balboa or Collegiate Shag when the music speeds up? In this workshop, you’ll discover how to enjoy Lindy Hop at higher tempos with confidence and style.

Curious about aerials in Lindy Hop? This workshop introduces the fundamentals and gives you the chance to try some exciting basics in a safe environment. Registration for this workshop is required as a couple. There will be no partner rotation during the workshop.

FIRST EDITION

We’re kicking things off with a competition where you can dance with new partners, show your social dance skills, and have a blast on the dancefloor!

Prelims: Friday

Finals: Saturday

Registration opens at the start of the Friday party. Make sure to sign up before the prelims to secure your spot!
